West Indies beat England in first test, since the COVID-19 outbreak, by four wickets. The guest team has also taken the lead of 1-0 in a three test-match series against the hosts.
In first innings England manage to score only 204 in 67.3 overs while in response West Indies scored 318 on 102 overs. The English team took the lead of just 199 runs in second innings by scoring 313 on 111.2 overs.
In second innings play four West Indian opening order batsmen made their way to pavilion on a single digit but thanks to the knock of Jermaine Blackwood who marvelously scored 95 on 154 deliveries to make his team victorious.
Man of the match award clinched by Shannon Gabriel with his outstanding performance by taking 4 and 5 wickets in first and second innings, respectively.
The second test match between the two teams will start on July 16 in Manchester.
