Arshad Nadeem, a Javelin thrower, directly qualifies for Tokyo Olympics

Arshad Nadeem, a 23 year Javelin thrower from Pakistan, has directly qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. The mega sports event will be held in 2021. It was earlier planned in 2020 but has been postponed due to COVID-19.

PTV Sports tweeted, “Arshad Nadeem represented Pakistan in the 2019 South Asian Games and clinched gold with a throw of 86.9 meters, which also translated into an automatic feature in the Tokyo Olympics as he surpassed the mandatory 85 meters qualification criteria for Tokyo 2020 for this event.”

With this achievement Nadeem became the first Pakistani to directly qualify for Tokyo games next year.
