HEC invites faculty to submit research proposals for Local Challenge Fund awards

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited faculty members of public/private sector universities/degree awarding institutions to submit research proposals that can help address local issues. Deadline for project outline submission is September 1, 2020.

The Local Challenge Fund (LCF) is a key element of the Higher Education Development in Pakistan Project supported by the World Bank and implemented by the HEC. 

LCF is anticipated to support research projects that address locally relevant socio-economic issues (and may also address topics associated with the Sustainable Development Goals), and will provide funds to selected institutions based upon a competitive, peer-reviewed evaluation of proposals.

The amount of funding for LCF awards is Rs. 65 million for maximum project duration of two years. In exceptional cases budget may go up to Rs. 113 million.
