Education & traffic authorities join hands for road safety awareness

Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) on Friday inked a Letter of Understanding (LoU) to promote road safety and traffic rules awareness in all educational institutions of FDE.

Director General FDE, Zia Batool and DIG (Headquarters) NHMP, Asghar Ali signed the LoU. Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood, Inspector General NHMP, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam and other senior officers attended the ceremony.

As per official statement issued after the signing ceremony, “The Project will ensure improved personal and professional knowledge, attitude and skills of the students and teachers through core values of respect for law, the life and property of self and others by strictly following the traffic rules.”

“NHMP shall also appoint focal point of contact for coordination and facilitation of activities with FDE. NHMP will educate and train the students and teachers of FDE institutions through traffic syllabus, training sessions, seminars and awareness campaigns. NHMP shall also provide on and off campus experiential learning opportunities to students and teachers.”
