Classes 9-12 to resume on Jan 18, Universities & classes 1-8 to reopen on Feb 1

The government has decided to start the classes 1 to 8 from February 1 while classes 9,10,11,12 shall be started as per earlier announced schedule of January 18. Shafqat Mahmood, Federal Minister for Education informed this decision after a meeting of health and education ministers on Friday.

He tweeted, “After a detailed analysis of the situation by health and education ministers we have decided to start classes for 9,10,11,12 as per announced schedule of Jan 18. Priority is being given to them because of board exams that have been postponed to May, June.”

“All other educational institutions, that is class 1 to 8 and universities will reopen on Feb 1. In the meantime we will review the situation city wise next week,” he added.
